I apologize for the lack of posting lately. Honestly I have been feeling quite lazy and burnt out. But now that I have caught up on sleep and eaten my fair share in pie, hyper productivity will resume. Here is a quick update on what Mark and I have been up to.
I went a little pie crazy and after baking my first pie ever (the pumpkin pie below) I decided to try apple pie with a lattice top. And it actually turned out (beginners luck). Mark got some fancy music/computer equipment for his birthday and has been playing around with that. He is enjoying school, especially studio class where they actually get to use the studio and all those big scary boards with the millions of buttons and knobs. We got all dressed up for Halloween but I left my camera at work so we used Marks camera on his computer to take the above picture. Still not sure what we actually were.
Mark is reading The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan (we highly recommend). I am on the last half of Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. He is a Nobel Prize winner and I have almost missed my stop on the metro twice now because I was so absorbed by his writing. Andrea and I have decided to keep putting stuff on eBay as "buy it now" and have been doing quite well selling things this way. It is much more relaxing since things stay up for a whole month and we can post new items whenever we feel like putting more up. We currently have two of my favorites up there so check it out.
I'm going to try to start posting more and I've decided to let myself be more random about what I post. This means that I will be posting not only updates about Mark and I and pictures of things we are doing but also links of sites that we want to share, Inspirational pictures and stories from others, and random quotes and thoughts from us.
One last thing. Please keep our new president Barack Obama and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Both for their safety and sanity over the next four years. (first photo via ffffound.com)
